In 1949, Hanna Mitri opened a small ice cream shop in Achrafieh, Beirut.
What started as a neighborhood shop became part of the city's memory. Generations grew up with it, returned to it, and carried its taste with them.
His philosophy was simple: quality above everything.
Every batch was made with patience, precision, and 100% natural ingredients. No shortcuts. No compromise.
Over time, this quiet commitment earned recognition far beyond Beirut, placing Hanna Mitri among the world's most celebrated ice cream makers.
For more than 55 years, Hanna and his wife built more than an ice cream shop. They built a family legacy rooted in craft, warmth, and dedication.

Founded by Hanna's granddaughter Sarah Moussa and her partner Joelle Mahfouz, beryt1949 was created to bring Lebanese booza into a new market.
